The Customer and the Result

The BAO room at the Pirna police station is used for special police task forces and for handling changing operational and emergency situations. The mobile workstations support situation-specific work, operational coordination, and flexible use of space.

On behalf of the state-owned enterprise SIB NL Dresden, Knürr equipped the BAO room with a custom-designed mobile workstation solution. Mobile situation tables, custom-designed work surfaces, and integrated specialty monitors, combined with structured power, network, and video signal infrastructure, form flexible operational workstations. These can be quickly adapted to different room layouts and operational situations.

The result is a versatile and operationally ready work environment. It is therefore not limited to a permanently fixed workstation configuration and can be used over the long term for various police operational scenarios.

The Initial Situation and Challenge

A mobile and highly flexible workstation solution was needed for the BAO room at the Pirna Police Station to handle various special police situations. The requirement was not for permanently installed control room consoles, but rather for mobile operational workstations that could be flexibly positioned and rearranged depending on the situation.

Monitors, as well as power, network, and video signal technology, had to be integrated into the mobile workstations in a space-saving manner. At the same time, the mobility of the workstations had to be adapted to the room’s specific flooring.

Knürr has implemented a custom mobile workstation solution for the BAO room. The solution seamlessly integrates a mobile table design, monitor integration, and technical connectivity.

• Retractable, electrically extendable, and up to 25° tiltable specialty monitors for clear display and use tailored to specific needs

Flexibility and Commitment

The mobile BAO work tables can be flexibly positioned within the room and adapted to different usage and organizational scenarios. This allows the layout of the workstations to be tailored to changing tasks, team structures, and spatial requirements. The room remains versatile and is not limited to a permanently fixed workstation configuration.

Flexible Monitor Integration

The integrated specialty monitors display task-specific information directly at each workstation. They can be extended electrically and tilted up to 25°, allowing them to be customized to the specific work situation. The viewing angle and monitor position can thus be adjusted as needed, which enhances user comfort. When lowered, the work surface remains clear and can be used for other purposes.

Structured and Service-Friendly Technology Integration

The integrated power, network, and HDMI connections, the customizable connection unit, and the protected cable management system ensure a well-organized, secure, and easily accessible technical infrastructure at the mobile workstation. Technical components and connections remain accessible for installation, maintenance, and future modifications.

Quality and Long-Term Usability

The robust, mobile design, non-marking dual-swivel casters, and locking mechanisms ensure safe and reliable use in the BAO room. The modular and technically accessible design facilitates future adjustments and reorganizations.
